(Physical Vapor Deposition), permet de d\u00e9poser sous vide pouss\u00e9, en couche mince tous les m\u00e9taux et alliages disponibles sous formes de cibles plaque ou cylindre, sur des supports de multiples natures (m\u00e9tallique, c\u00e9ramique, verre, plastique, \u2026). Les vapeurs m\u00e9talliques sont arrach\u00e9es \u00e0 la cible pour aller se d\u00e9poser sur les supports \u00e0 rev\u00eatir, elles peuvent r\u00e9agir avec un gaz pour conduire \u00e0 des compos\u00e9s comme des nitrures ou des carbures. Les deux proc\u00e9d\u00e9s ma\u00eetris\u00e9s par TCPP sont celui de la pulv\u00e9risation magn\u00e9tron et celui de l\u2019arc \u00e9lectrique. Des rev\u00eatements monocouche, multicouches ou \u00e0 gradient peuvent \u00eatre d\u00e9pos\u00e9s pour de multiples applications et trouvent leurs applications dans des domaines aussi vari\u00e9s que l\u2019a\u00e9ronautique, le spatial, les composants automobiles, les composants m\u00e9caniques utilis\u00e9s dans les machines et \u00e9quipements industriels, les applications d&rsquo;outillage (d\u00e9coupe, fa\u00e7onnage, estampage\u2026), les moules pour l\u2019industrie plastique et du caoutchouc, l\u2019injection sous pression, les instruments m\u00e9dicaux et diverses applications cas de EBPVD, les d\u00e9p\u00f4ts r\u00e9sultent de l&rsquo;\u00e9vaporation thermique du mat\u00e9riau avec un canon \u00e0 \u00e9lectrons, le mat\u00e9riau \u00e9vapor\u00e9 se red\u00e9posant sous forme de rev\u00eatement sur le support \u00e0 rev\u00eatir ( qui lui, est souvent en rotation pour assurer l&rsquo;homog\u00e9n\u00e9it\u00e9 de la couche d\u00e9pos\u00e9e).\nLa technique du canon \u00e0 \u00e9lectron consiste \u00e0 apporter suffisamment d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie ( tr\u00e8s concentr\u00e9e ) sur un mat\u00e9riau souvent r\u00e9fractaire \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;un faisceau d&rsquo;\u00e9lectrons focalis\u00e9. Les \u00e9lectrons sont cr\u00e9\u00e9s par effet thermo\u00e9lectrique (chauffage d&rsquo;un filament) et leur trajectoire est focalis\u00e9e gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&rsquo;action conjugu\u00e9e d&rsquo;une diff\u00e9rence de potentiel \u00e9lectrique et d&rsquo;un champ magn\u00e9tique. On vient observer l\u2019empreinte r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par une pointe diamant de 200 \u00b5m de rayon et 120\u00b0 de c\u00f4ne sous une force d\u00e9finie. L&rsquo;image est analys\u00e9e et les r\u00e9sultats sont compar\u00e9s \u00e0 un classement de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence HF1 \u00e0 HF6. Cette mesure est semi-quantitative. La mesure ne r\u00e9sulte pas de la liaison entre la surface et la premi\u00e8re couche de rev\u00eatement, mais de la r\u00e9ponse m\u00e9canique du rev\u00eatement ainsi que du substrat sous la charge. Le test d&rsquo;adh\u00e9rence est effectu\u00e9 conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 la norme VDI 3198.<br \/><strong>Duret\u00e9<\/strong><br \/>Les d\u00e9p\u00f4ts de couches minces pr\u00e9sentent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement une duret\u00e9 beaucoup plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e que le substrat. Les mesures de duret\u00e9 classiques reposent sur une empreinte profonde. Pour des couches minces, il n\u2019est possible de mesurer la duret\u00e9 du film que par une profondeur d\u2019indentation sensiblement inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur du film. L\u2019\u00e9paisseur du rev\u00eatement peut \u00eatre calcul\u00e9e \u00e0 partir de l\u2019image de l\u2019empreinte g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e.<br \/><strong>Coefficient de frottement<\/strong><br \/>Le coefficient de frottement peut-\u00eatre mesur\u00e9 de diff\u00e9rentes mani\u00e8res. G\u00e9n\u00e9ralement, le coefficient de frottement est mesur\u00e9 \u00e0 sec, sous atmosph\u00e8re ambiante contre un \u00e9chantillon plat non rev\u00eatu.<br \/><strong>Rugosit\u00e9 de surface<\/strong><br \/>La rugosit\u00e9 de surface peut-\u00eatre caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par de nombreux param\u00e8tres.
